Eric's fans will be happy to hear that he has received two more major honors. His Passover book, Wonders and Miracles-which has received five starred reviews-is the winner of the 2004 National Jewish Book Award in the category of Books for Children. The awards ceremony was held in December 2004 at the Center for Jewish History in New York.

Eric received even greater recognition at the beginning of January 2005. The Association of Jewish Libraries awarded him the Sydney Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award for the body of his work. This award has only been given five times. I. B. Singer was the first writer to receive it. Eric considers it an enormous honor to be on the same list as an author who is one of his heroes.
